Flashback to YJFL Grandfinal day last year………

Our U12 mixed and Colts faced their opponents Fitzroy and Preston. Both games were played in Ivanhoe and it was a windy start, ending in a wet and stormy afternoon.

In challenging conditions the U12 mixed played their hearts out but lost the battle, a game that started with close scores got away from them. Their season had been fantastic and, although feeling disappointed, it was their best season in years and they had a lot to be proud of. The team went back to the clubrooms to celebrate with their families and friends.

Later in the day, in wet and slippery conditions the battle of the northern suburbs began. Brunswick Colts recorded a come from behind win to defeat Preston in a nail biter. The final scores were.

Matty Autupuna won Best on Ground, with outstanding performances from Ewan Baulch, Lewis McKenzie, Jesse Doherty, Zephyr Hooke, Rory O’Connor, Zach Sibaei and Aaron Tsarouhas.

The team had worked hard all season and they took it to another level in the Grandfinal. They headed back to the clubrooms to celebrate what had been a great but challenging year.
